Examination of the patient
You request more information before the application of any medication.
Any option would pose a risk because you do not know the intoxicating agent.
The patient does not cooperate with you very much and he is verbally aggressive during the examination. Nevertheless, you manage to find out that he has never been treated by a psychiatrist, he knows who he is and where he is, he knows what day it is; his behaviour is accelerated and restless, euphoria alternates with irritability and quick temper (the latter two prevail), he talks fast and headlong, sometimes he seems wary; however, delusions cannot be clearly identified and he denies unusual experiences such as voices or visions, or influenced thoughts etc. He refuses to answer questions about the abuse of alcohol or drugs and cooperation becomes worse; the patient asks to be discharged.
As for physical symptoms, besides higher blood pressure and increased heart rate he complains about nausea; his pupils look dilated and he is sweating excessively.
